Rubberband!

I always say it's the little things that make life enjoyable. Some might consider this a little thing, but it makes me SO excited!

It's her very first rubberband!!! I have wanted to "do" her hair since the day she was born. Born completely bald, that is. We are a long way from braids, but it's a start!

For Mimi and Grandaddy!

I'm really having trouble finding time in what has quickly become a chaotic schedule to blog, but I miss it SO much! Mostly I miss the opportunity to share Charlie and Anna with their Grandparents living in Nashville. So, Mimi and Grandaddy, this one's for you!

My "Girly" Girl

If ever a woman hoped for a girly-girl daughter, it's me. And boy did I get exactly what I hoped for! She loves dresses, baby dolls, hair brushes, and pretending to put on my make-up. The girl actually asks for hair bows.
We had a little photo session this morning before church, while Will and Charlie had already headed to Sunday school. I had to post a picture as she's grown SO much in the past couple of months!

Later, at my mom's, Anna spent the majority of the evening sitting at the vanity in my mom's bathroom brushing her hair and trying on jewelry. Looks like Will is in trouble...

Where There's a Will...

There's a way! After much agonizing over the unexpected loss of a functioning computer, I have found a way to blog again! While I could have blogged in the evening on Will's work laptop (which I am doing), I had no way to upload photos from our camera. And, although I do consider myself a mediocre writer, I just couldn't see blogging, day in and day out, about the kids without photos to really capture those "worthy of re-living" moments.
Finally, the day came for me to get a new phone, complete with spectacular camera and data plan so I can email photos to myself, save them to the computer, and post them on the blog!!
So, here, we are again. Sad to say, many fun, sweet, and hilarious moments have come to pass in our months away...too many to recount. All I know to do is pick up right where we are...

Friday night was "Literacy Night" at Charlie's (and soon to be Anna's!) school. Basically, the kids scramble from classroom to classroom making a disastrous mess of the usually-pristine school. And they have a blast doing it.

Anna was enthralled with story-time and felt the need to point out every aspect of it to Charlie.
Charlie with "Little Bo Peep". Anna's not so "into" dressed-up characters.
Naturally, her favorite part was dinner...
Stay tuned for our adventures in T-ball!

Sweets

I still don't have a working computer to which I can upload photos, but a friend sent some photos of the kids today through Snapfish, so I was able to transfer them on Will's computer.
It's so strange how the realization of how quickly your kids grow up only comes at you in waves. I think it's because if we could really conceptualize how quickly they grow up, and away, it would completely freak us out.
It takes everything I've got not to go upstairs, wake them, and shower them with love.

Ok, so back to the pictures. We took the kids to the new cupcake store for a little bitter-cold-afternoon-pick-me-up. They loved it. Charlie loves anything sweet, and Anna loves anything...well...edible.

One Year

Well, my rededication to blogging has been thwarted by our computer's inability to work on a consistent basis. Christmas photos are on hold until the home computer is back up and running...I am posting from Will's laptop, from which I cannot upload photos. The timetable for this is unknown.
That being said, this weekend marked the year anniversary of my blogging about life with Charlie and Anna. It seems like such a short time ago I sat in this very seat and wrote my first post. And yet, so much has changed.
Anna has gone from an immobile, chubby-cheeked infant to a tall, slender, active, (and opinionated) toddler.
Charlie is becoming smarter every day and has gone from little boy to full-blown kid.
One thing that hasn't changed: I love these kids more than life itself. They continue to bring me a joy and happiness that overwhelms me. I thank God for another year of life with my precious family.
