Snake!

Saturday was the Egg-stravaganza at the park. This is where you pay five dollars to stand in line for a total of 31/2 hours to jump for approximately 35 to 40 seconds in a dirty, smelly, crowded bouncy house and spend your life-savings on things like cold, stale "soft" pretzels, watered-down lemonade, and luke-warm diet cokes. (Pause here for flashback to the Disney show from last weekend.)
Thankfully, we met Charlie's buddy there and they had a blast. Of course, their favorite part of the day was running wild in the empty soccer field next to the festivities. Obviously, this took place after we paid to do the other things. So is life with a three year old.
The best part of the afternoon for me was when we happened upon a man letting kids hold his snake. (This wasn't your Average Joe who snuck into the woods and came out with a snake. He worked for Camp Thunderbird and they were promoting their summer camp. I can't see how a live snake is supposed to make a mother think "Ah, I would love to send my child there alone, without me, for a week this summer". On second thought, maybe I can.)
Without a second of hesitation, Charlie bounded right up in line to hold the snake. I was so proud! The man kept saying "Please hold your hands straight out" as Charlie continued to try and cradle the snake like a newborn baby.

Here are the boys running around in the "free admission" soccer field, drinking their $2 lemonades. Oh, the irony.
